Hey people, I'm Keith Derrick, but I guess you already know that as you're looking at my website.
While you're here I might as well tell you a bit of history about myself. I was hatched on the 10th August 1985 in Chase Farm
Hospital, Enfied, London. And that's where I spent my first few years. I attended Galliard School until about 1990,
which is when I moved to the quaint little town of Halstead, Essex.
I attended St. Andrews C of E primary school who took me through years three until six where in my final year I became a school
councillor. Now don't get me wrong here, I wasn't some sort of Freudian type councillor, I was more of a representative for the
students along with four other pupils. It gave me a bit of responsibility within the school though.
I finished out my years at St. Andrews before moving on to big boy school (or what I though at the time). I attended the Ramsey School,
again based in Halstead who took my right the way through to my GCSE exams. As far as the school goes, it's a pretty average school,
but I had some wonderful teachers who really helped direct me for college.
I was in a number of the school sports teams and in my final GCSE years was chosen to represent the school in the national 'Maths Challenge'.
The frst year I didn't score any awards, but I think I got quite lucky in the challenge my second year, because I achieved a silver award, and lay only one point behind the leader (surprising considering
I got a B at GCSE).
Anyway, I'm getting sidetracked. I achieved reasonably good grades at the school but did coast along through most of my time at the Ramsey
to be honest.
My grades got me into Colchester Sixth Form College which is one of the best colleges in the surrounding area. I studied four A level
subjects, three AS level and one GCSE whilst at the college, which is not bad going considering that the average is only three to four A
levels.
Looking back, I think I tried to do too much because nearing the final exams, I neglected two of my AS level subjects in order to try
and focus more on other courses. I actually studied law for a year too but decided to drop it eight months through the course as I
just didn't have the time to devote to the subject (and it is possibly the most boring subject I have ever studdied in my life). Although
ending the course early, I did learn an awful lot from it and was predicted a minimum of a C grade. It has also stood me in pretty good stead
when dealing with certain situations too.
My favourite subject was media studies, which I did excel at. I know a lot of people look at it as being a bit of a Mickey Mouse
subject but I loved it and did really well. I produced two films along with a number of good written articles. My first production
won me awards within the college and upon leaving I won an additional recognition within the subject, the only one to be handed out by
the department.
You can view all of my grades in the education section, along with reading a few articles of my work.
Upon leaving the college, I joined Eurospares; a Ferrari, Lamborghini and Maserati spare parts specialist based in my home town.
I initially joined the team in order to help design and develop a website for the company to provide them with a web based presence
and ultimately boost sales.
Once I finished the site, I was asked to join the company full time working within the sales team.
I officially started in October 2004 and carried on working right the way through until the 24th June before catching my flight to
Thailand 3:00 pm that same day.
I travelled around Thailand and Australia until the 9th February when I returned to England with £12.00 cash and a credit card bill
worth a lot more than that! You can read all about that in the travel section though.
Upon my return James Pumo (Eurospares Owner) was good enough to take me back into the company which is where I'm currently working again.
Amongst all of that, I've designed and developed websites for companies in my personal time, as well as working weekend shifts at
Whispers Wine bar, playing football for Braintree and Bocking and living a social life.
I suppose I could keep going on forever but to be honest I'm pretty impressed if you've read this far.
Anyway, have a look around the rest of the website, and if you feel like giving me money for any reason or just want to get in touch with me
please don't hesitate to contact me.
